Impact & Outcomes

Public & Criminal Accountability

  • Indictment of two Dallas Police officers, whose arrest affidavits cited videos I recorded in 2020 during the George Floyd protests
  • Criminal charges filed against a neo-Nazi who committed assault after my reporting identified him
  • Calls for accountability from three members of Congress regarding James Rodden, an attorney for ICE in Dallas who my reporting revealed to be the operator of a white supremacist self-described fascist social media account; one representative later attempted to reduce his salary to $1

Institutional & Employment Consequences

  • Resignation of a member of Patriot Front from a city advisory board in Irving after my reporting identified him as an active member of the white-nationalist group
  • Resignation of the advisory board of the Dallas Education Collective after my reporting revealed that Republican megadonor Monty Bennett had concealed his involvement; the organization quietly shuttered within a year of my reporting
  • Resignation of a board member of Refuge for Renewal, a nascent homelessness nonprofit backed by Monty Bennett, following my reporting on Bennett's efforts to criminalize homelessness
  • Firing of a Dallas-area man from a major corporate bank and the opening of an official investigation into a Navy contractor, both spurred by my reporting that identified them as the operators of popular neo-Nazi social media accounts

Political Networks Exposed

  • Unmasking of purported activist groups as creations of a company called Crowds on Demand at the behest of political donor and Dallas Express publisher Monty Bennett
